That melody at around 1:20 really did it for me, the way that moves is really nice (where it hits the flatter arpeggiated chord in the run at like 1:28 and 1:38). When the bass comes in after the sort of tag sound it is really nice, could be a little "beefier" though imo, but that could just be my headphones not being bass-heavy. Those little intricate notes around 0:43 are beautiful too I would very much like that to be more prominent.

I understand this is a videogame loop and needs to be short and... looping, but there is enough content in this to make a full feature song of 3-5 minutes, which I really hope you choose to do at some point cause you have created some absolutely, incredibly amazing sounds and melodies that you only use for brief moments in the song.

Definitely sounds inky as hell!

MadMath responds:

Thanks benoz for the careful listening.
Sorry for leaving you a bit frustrated about the duration, but not only it was done for a videogame as you said so, but I almost never compose long tracks as I'm afraid I couldn't maintain a coherence on the duration, but don't want to repeat myself too much.

Thanks for the kind words man, I appreciate :)

Beautiful and simplistic, no major changes but that's one of the reasons that it fits so well. Would wander 8 bit forests to this for hours. Feels like it's the calm before the storm.

I usually don't like drum n bass but those sort of "side" instruments and cool effects really make it. Loved the noisy approach and the drums were spot on. I don't understand how one of the people a few reviews down could no star this? Even if it's not your cup of tea you can still appreciate that it's well made and give it a 3 or something? I hate people. Good song though.

I normally just ignore Q-Qers

very nice

I must say the instruments sound absolutely stunning, like legitimately brilliant. As for the composing, the flow is very nice, stop ripping apart your own work it is good! Some parts are lacking "zazz" and I don't have a clue what that means or how to fix it. They just seem to need something more. But the big loud sections are really great, particularly when it picks up at around 56 seconds in. Very nice use of beautiful sounds. Good work.

Bosa responds:

Thank you. I wouldn't be able to make music like this without the Lord, so all the credit should be towards him.

boom boom boom

Good sounds in the intro, nothing special but that kick/bass thing had a pretty good techno feel to it. The next section was nice. Im not into that whole bass pumpin techno kind of stuff kinda gets annoying for me. The melodies were nice though. Good job

poowis responds:

To be honest, (I'm sure I've said this to somebody else, too) I'm not really into this sort of music either, but it was made a long while ago while I went through a phase. But yeah, even I get annoyed by this one sometimes.

Cheers.

Nice sound

Great sound on those instruments. Definitely can hear both the mario and daft punk styles worked into it quite well (Y). I would have liked to see the end done with some apeshit drums after that big snare build up haha.

poowis responds:

It does anticlimax ever-so-slightly, doesn't it? I knew it when I made it, too. I just didn't know what to do that wouldn't clutter it or sound like I got too excited, you know?

Thanks a lot.

Happy

Good sound, especially when the bass comes in, drums could be a little more prominent. It's so happy haha. Could be worth a few more stars if you made it into a whole song. And you should.

poowis responds:

I enjoyed making this one, so I'll plan to extend it if you think I should. I have a few projects going right now on top of other things but I'll get it done in time.

Nice

Got good around 1:20 when that instrument kicked in. The technologic vocals work pretty good with this. Intro is a little repetitive, but it's good once everything kicks in. Some sections could use a bit more background instruments, or just a bit more variety if you want the texture to stay thin in those sections. Good job :D

Good

Great sounds and all but I feel like it might work better without the 7/8 feel it seems like its there just to be there. But it works really well when the drums fade out. Piano solo was great

nice

The backing instrument at 0:33 made this awesome. Sounds good when everything comes together later too. Lots of build ups that don't seem to go anywhere. That note at the end was perfect.
